Sook is the founder of Duke Jeonseo faction. Anyeol and Sook are in the relationship of uncle and nephew. The origin of the Wonju Byun clan by blood in Goryeo was Sook Byun.
-
Sook was Wonju Byun. Sook, a member of the Duke Jeonseo (currently Minister) fraction, was ordered by Anyeol to make Wonju the Main building of the Byun Clan in Wonju. Sook was ordered by Anyeol to make Wonju the Main building of the Byun Clan in Wonju when Princess Noguk came to Goryeo in 1351 (the year of Shinmyo신묘년 辛卯年 of Jijeong 지정至正), Anyeol was the head. Sook came to Goryeo as a Scholar (title name). Sook reached the 'Hobujeonseo (Minister)' of 'Gajeongdaebu (title name)’ in Goryeo. Hobu was the department in charge of tax and national finance-related parts, and Jeonseo corresponded to the current Minister. When the future of Goryeo was in jeopardy, Sook and Rimmaeng Jo swore allegiance to the king of Goryeo, Gongmin. When they met Sook and Rimmaeng Jo, they both worried about Goryeo and said that they could not serve the two kings. Upon hearing the news that Mongju Jeong had been murdered, Sook shed tears as he sighed, saying that Sook and Mongju Jeong depended on each other and were together. Mongju Jeong's Courtesy name was Poeun. Taejo (1st king of Joseon Seonggye Lee) found out about this and imprisoned Sook's spouse and child, and Sook crossed the Byeokranjin (near Kaesong) to the west with his son, Eulchung. Sook and Eulchung hid in Apsan in Paechon County. The tomb was in Jaegkyung-dong, at the eastern foot of Yongsu Mountain, Yonan County. The direction of the tomb was east (90°) and there was a tombstone.

Sook’s Character(字) is Jaeom (자엄子嚴Self-discipline), the Courtesy name(號) is Moryeodang (모려당慕麗堂Longing for Goryeo and keeping fidelity, ‘Dang’ is an honorific term for Courtesy's name), and the posthumous name (諡號) or Hui (諱) is Moonjeol(문절文節 Shining star). Sook’s official position reached Hojojeonseo (戶曹典書currently, Minister) after going through several official posts during the Goryeo Dynasty. When Goryeo collapsed, he kept his integrity by gathering two kings and moving his residence to Paechon, and called the people living there Moryeo Jeolsa (慕麗 節士). He was one of the 72 prefectures of Dumundong (杜門洞). Moryeo Jeolsa (慕麗 節士) means longing for Goryeo and keeping fidelity. Dumundong (杜門洞) is an old name at the western foot of Gwangdeok Mountain in Kwangduk-myeon, Kaepung County, Gyeonggi Province and is the original home of 21st generation descendant, Heepung. Byeokrando is along the Yeseong River and is between Yonan County and Kaesong. The character 'do' in Byeokrando means not an island, but a dock along with 'Byeokranjin' and 'Byeokranpo'
