(Adopted son, Ryangbo's brother, Ryangjwa’s 2nd son(Rak)’s 3rd son)

  • Yijin’s Courtesy name was Hyungbo (형보亨甫Friend is like brother). Yinjin lived in Hwanghae Province, the Korean peninsula. Yijin was born on February 2, 1596 (February 29, 1596宣祖29; 丙申年 the 29th year of king Seonjo’s reign). Manryuk (萬曆) was from the 1st day of the 1st lunar month in 1573 to the 30th day of the 7th lunar month in the year 1620. It was the era name of the King of the Ming Dynasty, the Emperor Manryuk (萬曆) of the Shenzhong (神宗). Yijin was the owner of a lot of property and wealth, a person with outstanding knowledge and talent, a person with a courageous attitude, an outstanding moral character who does not give up on his nature in favor of money or power, demonstrates his ability and achieves great achievements. He was a person of character, virtue, and wisdom. Yijin passed a mugwa (a military service exam) in 1620 (光海 12; 庚申年 King Kwanghe, 12 years of ruling). Yijin served king Injo (1623-1649) as a Seonjeongwan (Major General) and was invested with the title of a Dosa (Jong 5 Pum Vice-Governor)  and Gyeongnyeok (Jong 5 Pum Lieutenant Colonel) of a Dochongbu (Highest military authority).  Yijin worked hard and achieved success and had a high reputation for governing Ryungwon County, Biin County, and Kwaksan County. In 1624 (仁祖 2; 甲子年 the 2nd year of king Injo’s reign), Yi Gwal's Rebellion had broken out, and Yijin defeated Yi Gwal’s army at Capital and Ansan. In recognition for Yijin’s contribution Yijin was invested with the title of a Wonjonghun (原從勳), and was promoted to a Gunsu (Major) of Kaechon (皆著 a Governor of Kaechon) in 1637 (仁祖 15; 丁丑年 the 15th year of king Injo’s reign). Yijin reflected on the victory he had achieved and maintained a humble attitude.

  • In 1638, Yijin was invested with the title of Jeolla Jwasuwuhu (Jong 3 Pum military Colonel). Right after, Yijin transferred to Jeonunsa of Kwanseo (a tax-collecting position). Jeolla Jwasuwuhu ingcha was a dispute that broke out among Jwasuwu who ruled the Jeolla region, especially over the issue of succession to the throne, and Jeolla Jwasu, who came out to settle the dispute, was still appointed.

  • On May 25, 1640 (July 13, 1640 the 18th year of king Injo’s reign), Yijin faced enemies at the sea in front of Chilsasn, Yeongam (Songseok-ri, Haehae-myeon, Muan County, South Jeolla Province), and died in the line of duty. After Yijin’s death, the Joseon royal court invested him with the title of a Byungjochamui (Jeong 2 Pum Minister) and sent Kang, Heungjae of a Yegwan (the office of tradition and education) to hold a memorial service consoling Yijin’s death on behalf of the king. Kyunryekwan refers to the officials in ancient Korea who were responsible for conducting and overseeing ceremonial events and rites. "I respectfully offer my condolences for the passing of Yijin. In memory of them, the clothing, and shoes for their funeral, which were befitting of their status, have been laid to rest. May they rest in peace."

  • Yijin was buried in a resting place in the Hodu mountain in Yucheon-myeon, Paechon County. The direction of the tomb was 75° north to east.

  • Yijin married a woman of the Jeonju Lee Clan (전주 이씨). She was invested with the title of a Sukbuin (淑夫人 Jeong 3 Pum, Dangsanggwan, director or Brigadier General)", an official position. Her father was Sukeun, her grandfather was invested with the title of a Jinsa (new appointed), and her great-grandfather, Chulsoo, was invested with the title of a Hyeongam of the Yeongchun County (currently, secretary or Captain, Jong 6 Pum). Her grandfather on her mother’s side, Choi, Kyungwun of the Gangneung Choi Clan. The spouse died on March 21. The tomb was a twin tomb in the same direction as the two stars shining in the sky. In his tomb, Yijin's Geonwi (乾位 male ancestral tablet or tomb) and his spouse shared the same tomb. (乾位同 雙螢).

  • Yijin had five sons, Woo (1st 寓), Sik (2nd 寔), Hwan(3rd 寏), Pyo (4th 票), and Jae (5th 宰).
